Empty Steel Drum Return Policy

Current environmental laws and regulations govern the practices to be followed in the disposition of used, empty steel and plastic drums that were used to contain hazardous materials. Under the EPA's Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liabilities Act (CERCLA), empty drums must be carefully managed by both drum users and recyclers.

Used, empty steel drums cannot be re-filled and must be properly disposed of. Therefore, please be advised that effective 10/1/16, Chemical Distributors, Incorporated will be imposing a $5.00/drum Environmental disposal fee on each steel drum that is returned to us.

Please note that this disposal fee does not apply to returned plastic drums since they can be reused.
